This policy sets out what FairPlay collects, why we need it, who else sees it, how long we hold it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Template notice for the site owner: the copy on this page is a working draft written for the local build. Before it goes live, have it reviewed against the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and your licence conditions, and fill in the operating entity, registered address and grievance officer details.
What we collect
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Account details | Name, date of birth, email address, mobile number and password. |
| Verification documents | Government ID and proof of address, taken to satisfy licence conditions on age and identity. |
| Financial data | Deposits, withdrawals and the payment identifiers needed to process them. |
| Activity data | Bets placed, games played, bonuses claimed and limits set. |
| Technical data | IP address, device and browser type, and log data recorded when you use the site or app. |
| Communications | Chat transcripts, emails and support tickets. |
Full card and banking credentials stay with the payment providers. We do not store them.
Why we use it
Running your account
Opening and maintaining the account, settling bets, and moving deposits and withdrawals.
Meeting our obligations
Confirming your age and identity as the licence requires, and satisfying legal, regulatory and audit duties.
Keeping play safe
Catching fraud, bonus abuse, duplicate accounts and money laundering, and applying responsible gaming tools such as self-exclusion.
Staying in touch
Answering support requests and recording what was discussed, sending service messages about your account, and marketing only where you have consented.
Who we share it with
Data leaves us only where the job cannot be done without it.
- Payment providers and banks — to move money in and out.
- Identity verification services — to check the documents you submit.
- Game suppliers — for the games you open.
- Hosting and analytics providers — under contract, and only for the work we engage them to do.
- Regulators, auditors and law enforcement — where the law obliges us to hand it over.
We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
| Record | Held for |
|---|---|
| Account and transaction records | Generally several years after an account closes. |
| Self-exclusion records | The length of the exclusion and beyond, since erasing them would defeat the purpose. |
| Marketing consent records | Until consent is withdrawn. |
Security
- Traffic between you and the site is encrypted in transit.
- Access to personal data inside the business is limited to staff whose role calls for it.
- Two-factor authentication is available on every account.
No system is ever perfectly secure. Where a breach occurs, we notify the users affected and the regulators, as the rules require.
Two-factor authentication is optional. Turning it on means a password taken from elsewhere is not enough on its own to reach your account.
Your rights
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask for erasure, subject to the retention periods set out above.
- Withdraw marketing consent whenever you like — service messages about your account carry on regardless.
- Take a complaint to the relevant data protection authority.
To use any of these, write to support from the email address registered to your account.
Cookies
- Strictly necessary — keep you signed in and hold the session secure. Blocking them breaks login.
- Analytics — set only with your consent, and used to see which pages get used.
Non-essential cookies can be managed from the consent banner or your browser settings at any time.
Children
FairPlay is for adults of 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and an account found to belong to a minor is closed, with stakes returned and winnings voided.
Changes
Material changes are announced on the site, and emailed to you where the change affects how your data is used. The date of the most recent revision sits at the foot of this page.
